His disciples didn’t understand at the time that this was a fulfillment of prophecy. But after Jesus entered into His glory, they remembered what had happened and realized that these things had been written about him (John 12:16 NLT ).
The context for this passage of scripture is from when Jesus was in Jerusalem and rode on a donkey, not long before his crucifixion. There, we also learned that He did this to fulfil a prophecy that was written about Him, which said “Don’t be afraid, people of Jerusalem. Look your King is coming, riding on a donkey’s colt.” Yet when this was happening, His disciples had no clue that this was meant to happen, to fulfill this prophecy.
Dear readers, I felt to share this with you because the Lord is about to lift up some of you, and before he does that, there are some things that you must understand. The first thing is that you shouldn’t worry about what people are saying about you because of the way God is leading you, don’t let it affect you. Right now, they are questioning every decision that you’ve made in your life because they don’t understand that you actually have to do this; It’s a command in your spirit, something that must be fulfilled. Maybe you’ve been led by God to go back to school even though you have small children to care for. Maybe you emptied your bank account to give to the Kingdom of God, or maybe you moved to a new country with your young family. People cannot understand why you would do such a thing, but I want you to know today that once God lifts you up and bring you into a realm of glory, that’s when those who currently doubt you, those who don’t believe in your vision will understand and realize why you had to do the things you did or why you couldn’t do certain things anymore. After Jesus entered into His glory, that’s when the disciples remembered the event that happened in Jerusalem and they realized that it needed to happen in order to fulfill a prophecy. However, it is also true that some will never understand even then, and instead they will seek to destroy you. It happened to Lazarus, same chapter, few verses above (John 12:9-11 NLT), it says: “When all the people heard of Jesus’ arrival, they flocked to see Him and also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus had raised from the dead. Then the leading priests decided to kill Lazarus, too, for it was because of him that many of the people had deserted them and believed in Jesus.” wow! Child of God because God is about to lift you up, because His glory is about to manifest in your life, people will see it! Therefore, because of you many are about to come into the light! Because of you, they are going to follow the only true God. But this also means that the enemy won’t like it, he will try to destroy you; he will try to dim your light and he will use people against you. Nevertheless, the glory of God will be evident in your life when he lifts you up and raise you up as he did for Lazarus. So, don’t be afraid because no weapon formed against you will prosper. Now shine! Your time has come to be lifted. You are much loved!
